Minster View

Minster View consists of 3 floors of a 4 storey eighteenth century townhouse. (The ground floor is an estate agents shop). The rooms are elegantly proportioned with high ceilings and original doors and mouldings. Decoration and furnishings are to a high standard and have been chosen with an eye to character and ambience. Crockery, linen etc are of good quality and were selected to complement the décor. Minster View was completely refurbished in June 2008.

Ground floor: entrance hall and stairs.

First floor: The light and spacious drawing room features a large bay window overlooking Gillygate and is perfect for people-watching or simply relaxing. There is a television, video recorder and CD/mp3 player/radio. The attractive kitchen diner is extremely well equipped with Denby crockery, microwave, gas cooker, washer-dryer, an antique dresser and views of the Minster.

Second floor: The large main double bedroom has a four poster bed, original wardrobes and William Morris designed wallpaper and curtains. The art deco style bathroom has a rose head shower over the large bath. The single bedroom is prettily furnished and its views of the Minster through the trees can be enjoyed whilst lying in bed!

Third floor: Steep stairs lead to a charming, spacious loft room with twin beds and fine views of the Minster. This room is ideally situated for members of your group who might like a little privacy, be it granny or grandson.

The property is centrally heated and has a “living flame” gas fire in the drawing room. Ironing facilities and travel cot are provided. Linen, electricity, gas and heating are included in the tariff. A parking space for a single car is provided close by in a secure area. Additional cars can be left at the long stay car parks a few minutes’ walk away.

We were previously registered with English Country Cottages (K standard) and the English Tourist Board (4 star) but are now marketing totally via the internet. This allows us to keep our prices reasonable as we don't pay commision.
